Has anybody on here actually had experience putting cams into a 6g74 (3rd gen) such as a 272 or around that and can give a ball park figure of the gains?

Getting my car tuned soon and really need to get some facts out. I'm expecting maybe a 10kw gain from the tune. Before i step into this i need to know what gain would be held from changing my ralliart cams to a 272 or similar profile cam. Cams + installation will probably cost me around $1500 so if it's going to give less then 10kw gain i obviously won't do it.

Post up advice and if you have had any experience doing a cam swap like this tell me your experience.

Thanks fellas,
Hayden

I really think you should get some head work to get the most out of the up spec cams. That is extra cost on top of the $1500 I know. So I would recommend you seriously consider a 6G75 converion. The 6G75 has more potential for future development.

Cheers Dave

Those cams also should be suited to the rev range. Some people put in cams and then end being told that the cas they put in only begin to work making power at engine RPM beyond the redline.
