Hi Everyone,

I am the proud owner of 2 fantastic cars!!!!

One is a TE Magna, and the other a TR Magna.

Anyway my keyless entry remote to my TE is no longer working grrrrrrr.

So what I am wondering..... does anybody have any idea of how/where I can get a replacement remote???????

Please let me know I am desperate :)

Thanks

Meg

Only place to go is your local Mitsubishi dealer, they 'supposedly' send the remotes to Adelaide to get em re-programmed and then they send em back and call you when they're ready! Personally, I think thats a load of rubbish.. but hey.. I'm not sure!

Good Luck with it!

The last owner of my car took the screw out and glued it together because the clip for the key ring broke but now i cant replace the battery! . You can get the remotes on the spot and program them your self. Its only the keys with the chips in side that they rekon are sent to Adelade and charge you $90 for the privilage. This by the way is untrue. You can get these keys from any specialised locksmith for half the price.

If you look in the manual, it says how you can re-program the remote to the car... Had to do this to mine because i shorted out the whole car while changin a liht glove

I think it's like uout your key in the ignition and turn the car on and off 5 times or something, then press the lock button, unlockbutton, then it should work :)

if not, u need a new battery for it

Why are you desperate. You can still lock and unlock the car using the key. If you really cannot live without the transponder they are about 50 bucks from a dealer. They definately do not go back to adelaide to be reprogrammed. They can be done on the spot in about 30 seconds.

my remote stopped working, so i replaced the battery and it still didn't work, a couple of the buttons on the board are sticking so i might replace those but i haven't had time to troubleshoot what part of the board has failed.

When I bought my TH, it came with one key, and a non-working remote. I opened it up and it was all sticky and **** and smelt like Fanta. I actually went to the Mitsi dealer today, paid $54 and they hooked me up within minutes. I didnt pay $12,000 to get a car which wouldnt open by remote control. I think $54 is a small price to pay.

that is the difference between ur tf and my te, the te only came with the one button standard and cant be programed to work with the 3 button remotes, im pretty sure :/, i asked specifically for the 3 buttoned ones and mitsibit**** busselton told me to **** off

I paid $49 for one last week and they take about 10secs to setup, turn ignition on and off 3 times press buttons and hey presto.
Small price to pay for the flashing lights me thinks. :D

The remotes are model specific. They range from about 50-60 or if your really unlucky one of the verada ones is 200. They keys have a chip in them, you have to get a key code and the keys get cut at SA. They do not though cost 90 bucks, a TJ is 68 retail the TE is a little cheaper. If you tryy to get a key cut and not programmed and use it in you ignition you will shut your car down. It then has to be towed to mits to get reprogrammed.

If you change the battery in a remote which by all means do if you can, you have to reprogram the remote again, simply have the remote in the car and turn the ignition on and off 3 times untill you blinkers flash, the remote is programmed. The Key has to be programmed by mits, some charge to do this we dont. A computer has to be plugged into the car to program keys.
