Both yesterday & today, after driving about 10kms, the TCL Off light came on, closely followed by the "Check Engine" warning light.
After stopping for a short while, the lights went out as normal after restarting & stayed out for the rest of the day.
Does this pattern suggest the cause?

According to my Ellery workshop manual there are 23 possible diagnostic codes relating to the traction control system. Then there are several possible causes for each (out of a total of about 13 fault conditions). So any help in identifying the fault would be appreciated.

im pretty sure the TCL is the traction control light/warning? and normally doesn't just come on and off without pressing the button on the dash...may want to get a auto sparky/mechanic to have a look Ive never heard of that happening on any car

Yes, it sounds like the same issue I had with my TW. One of the throtlle sensors was replaced by my dealer and it has not come back(once they got the adjustment right). Forget which sensor it was though .

UPDATE - I've found in the Operator's Manual that the engine warning lamp indicates a problem in the emission control system.
So the fault must be one that triggers both warning lights. Comparing the trouble codes in my Ellery manual for both Fuel System
& Traction Control System, the fault could be (as TW2005 suggested above -thank you) in the throttle position sensor system.
Other possibilities are the vacuum control solenoid valve system & the engine-A/T communication circuit system.

Second Update - I used the diagnostic feature & the "check engine" light flashed a code 61.
This indicates a communication problem between the engine & transmission ECUs.

Some other observations:- when I earthed terminal 1 the interior lights went off (??).
The TCL light didn't flash.
The "anti-lock" light did flash, which worried me until I found that it was the "normal" code.
