hey guys

my old keyless entry remotes got broken for my 98 verada and i got a new remote. However when i put the key in and turn it from ig to acc three times my indicators never flash like they are supposed to so the new remote cant be programmed.

Has anyone had this before or have any advice on what i should do?

any replies appreciated.

Thanks

Its Accs to Ign, Smooth and slow, if that fails, I'd disconnect the battery as a last resort, will it fix it, who knows, but there will bugger all left to try.

also you must have the doors, boot closed as well, and for extra precaution, make sure the sterio is turned off as well

hey guys thanks for the quick replies i appreciate it.

yeah i have tried it with the doors shut etc and the indicators still do not flash. I might just have to take it to an auto electrician or something.

I was also thinking about fitting an alarm system with remote locking instead as a way to fix it.

Yea i've had it before,
As SHOOT said just do it nice and slow but not too slow, do it in one second motions
Should be enough to make it work
Just have to keep at it mate, dont stop at three as it might not register the first click
I normally give it one extra just incase and it normally works
Worth a shot really :)

There has been a decent amount of discussion on this forum about remote programming.

I have found that the turn key method of getting the car into programming mode does not work on my KF Xi Verada, but the method outlined in the thread below does.

However, I know of another member for which method in the above thread does not work.

Anyway... Good luck

you are an absolute champion. I tried that way and it worked the first time. I never would have realised that you have to do something completely different to what is in the user manual!!!

The other way i tried heaps of times, every which way slow fast etc and it would never work.

Thanks very much
