View Full Version : Where to get reverse parking sensors installed?

Hey All,

I'm finding it very hard to judge distance behind me in the 380, and before I realised the vrx doesn't come standard with them i'd signed the paper work, bugger. Not a deal breaker but I definitely need SOMETHING.

Where/which places will supply and fit reverse parking sensors that look factory fitted? Would Mits do this or do I need to go elsewhere? I tried a quick google search but nothing definitive came up.
How much roughly should I be looking at to pay for a professional/factory looking job?

Cheers,
Leigh

I know up here my local car audio shop does them. Maroochy Car Sound. (http://www.maroochycarsound.com.au/category/drive-assist-security/park-sensors-drive-assist-security/)

If not Mal, then maybe hit up some local Audio shops or Autobarn (maybe?).

Doesn't the 380 have a Reversing Camera (with distance indicator) available?

Selmax. Mohit recommended them to me for my Verada after he had his Verada done. He since has had his SS and WR-X done by them and his sisters car I believe. If you mention Mohit and myself they should do them for you for $200 all colour coded and fitted.

I bought one of these off of eBay:

Plugs in to one of the camera inputs on my Orion AVR6.1 deck

Post up a pic from the rear, I looked at that but thought it might look ordinary especially against my colour paint.

One thing worth noting is this camera replaces one of your number plate lights. It does however have its own number plate light built in to it which you can connect in to the light circuit, but that light isn't as bright as the stock one on the RHS. It's also much whiter than the stock one.
Not sure if the distance markers are built in to the camera or are put there by my stereo. Most likely built in to the camera.
Since the camera itself is very dark grey/black, it should look fine against any color paint behind it.

Yeah that looks good on yours but I reckon the camera would stand out like dogs balls on my paint & look out of place. I thought abount mounting a different one in the middle so it all symetrical looking but those surface ones hang lower & slightly over the top of the number plate.

PS - Distance markers are part of the camera function.

PPS - You need to mow your lawn lol

Hey Minotaur, do you know if it can fit into the number-plate light of a Verada? Been meaning to do it for some time now.

Hey sorry, I didn't see this post. Not sure if the Verada light assembly is the same as on the 380 or not. If it is, then it would fit fine.
If you pull yours out and compare it to http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Car-Reverse-Backup-Rear-Parking-Camera-Mitsubishi-380-/320658848845?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aa8c1bc4d it will give you an idea.
