have a tn magna with a major oil leak from the oil pressure switch.wondering what size socket would

be needed to remove the switch in order to replace it?I know a special tool is available but is expensive

to buy for a one time only use!would appreciate any tips regarding this procedure and what would cause

the unit to fail and allow such an oil leak

socket is 1-1/16 from memory.

if you dont have the tool ide suggest a pair of vice grips or similar as a multi point socket (ones without flat faces) will round it off fairly easily as the corners are already round.

thats providing you dont have an elite with an oil pressure gauge on the dash. elites use a 14mm from memory. bit of a prick to get out.

often the bakerlite surround will crack and allow it to leak. they are easy to replace. just get one from the wreckers. much cheaper and most of them work.
