The Renault's transmission cracked it, and I'm moving to Tassie - aside from not having the time/energy to swap in the spare transmission, I want a wagon to move/go camping with in Tassie ;)

So - I wants a wagon. Its either spend a bit a get a TL/TW, or spend as little as possible and get a TF Advance. Want airbags/ABS/cruise.

Is $5K a not insulting offer for a TL with 180K kms on it...?

If I were you id go for something like this:

linky (http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=11126420&__Qpb=1&Cr=4&__Ns=pCar_Odometer_Single|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1 ||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294964597% 204294964374%201562%20903%20443&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&PriceTo=443&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=40&__sid=127B5A0D44DD)

being TJ2 It has power windows, an airbag, ABS, cruise.... and the 3.5 with less k's on it... would be a great car and you could probably haggle it to ~4.5k..
if not id go straight for a TL.... id definately rather a newer car with a bit more k's on it and a car 8 years older.

IMO, 180,000kms is too many.

Something like this (http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=11166787&__Qpb=1&Cr=4&__Ns=pCar_Odometer_Single|0||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1 ||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0&keywords=&__N=1216%201282%204294964597%204294964374%20903%20 4294964371&SearchAction=N&silo=1011&seot=1&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&trecs=25&__sid=12DBE583DE19) may be better suited. Provided it's had its timing belt done, I'd go in at $5k and go up to $6.5 providing it's in good condition.
