A few more details, eg. what model cluster, may be helpful. I presume you're swapping auto for auto (or manual for manual) clusters?

without changing the wiring you can swap for a series 1 tj but as soon as you start going series 2 tj or later (anything digital) you need to change some if not all of the wiring associated with it.
For a digital cluster swap you just need to swap the upper dash loom. This is a dash out job

eep. Ok. I should have been a bit more specific.
TH into (anything) newer. I heard about these verada blackout dashes and also the sports models... The TH std. one is so dull..
Manual, but I assume that it doesnt matter you just blank out the centre lights for gear....

OK... in that case then why not go the KH blackout cluster... if you go later than that you will end up with tiptronic clusters which will not match your non-tippy box (they will probably still work but the gear numbers won't illuminate properly). The forum sponsor (Mitsfix) probably has a KH cluster for sale right now and can advise on what is req'd to do the conversion.

Yes you need to swap the upper harness, no you dont have to take out the dash. You can leave the old harness in place and thread this harness in through the dash. Have done a few times
I do have some black out cluster packs avail, for these dash has to come out, I also have digital cluster sets from TL with the centre clock available

For a digital cluster, you also need the centre section as it is no longer a trip meter, but rather just a couple of lights.

or you get a set up out of a TL and use that with the clock.....
