Hi Guys,
Is there away to get Check Engine Light error codes out using the Multi Function Display?
Thanks,
Craig.

nope.
you need an obd2 reader to check the codes. either you can shell out and buy one (good option if you have a modified car are they are a regular occurence)
or you can take it in to mitsus and have them read and clear it for you.
What part of WA you in? If Perth should pop out to some of our socials :P
I assume you are driving a 380 and not the 'rada mentioned in your profile?

Assuming you mean you want to display the code fault number, I was told an Android app called Torque (paid version) will read and clear CELs, otherwise dealer can do it. Does the dealer charge for that? I can't imagine them doing it for free, but could be wrong.

Torque works but you need to buy the bluetooth obd scanner off ebay that goes with it.

Yeah I have the Bluetooth thing, got it off a coworker as it didn't work with his car. I've used it with the free version of Torque which has stacks and stacks of readings that you can plot into dials, graphs, etc. The paid version ($4.80) does the reading and clearing of codes. I'll buy it only if I need it.
EDIT: There's also another (better?) app called Dash Command, but at just under $20 (no free ver) I won't be trying it anytime soon.

Cheers, just updated my profile.
Yup, CEL happened on my 07 S2 380 SX.
Brought it a week ago, has been a little hard to start first thing in the morning, would turn over normal speed but not fire, attempt to start it a second time and it would fire no problem. this morning i let it crank a lot longer than usual and got a CEL, still fired second pop and been fine all day.
The battery did seem a litte old and had given me a slow crank previously (just not this morning), so i swapped it with a known good one until i get it looked at by Paceway.

Sounds like the crank angle sensor issue discussed multiple times on the forum. easy fix with new battery.
Chris says changing the battery as you have done will turn the engine light off and he can clear the code when you come in for your next service (he works at paceways :P ) Whats the rego on the car... ill tell him to look out for it lol :P

Slightly off topic but ............... How do you get the top cowl over the MFD off???
I'm thinking this is the best spot to mount a GPS antenna?

I have seen it suggested the easiest way is to use some duct or masking tape and pull straight back with that - easier on the fingers and nails!
