Hi all, I recently been on holidays and I noticed my car (KH Verada) has started changing rough when down shifting, I guess you would say its flaring. When changing from 4th to 3rd like when overtaking it feels like it goes drops into neutral for a split second then goes into gear, causing the car jerk, the fluid was changed 10,000ks ago. I had a auto trans guy adjust the TPS about a month ago, maybe he didn't do it right, would a out of adjusted TPS cause this problem? cheers

maybe reset your transmission computer and make it relearn ur transmission patterns

What sort of fluid did he use? If it's not on the receipt, check the dipstick and see if the fluid is pink.

I changed the fluid myself, I used Nulon multi vehicle fluid, which is suited to Mitsubishi's, thanks for your reply
If the current problem was not apparent before the mechanic adjusted the TPS but appeared immediately afterwards then one would imagine that the TPS adjustment has caused the problem. If the TPS is not giving correct information to the ECU then most gear operations will be compromised. In the downloadable manual there are methods on testing the TPS and adjusting...here is an example:
INSPECTION PROCEDURES FOR DIAGNOSIS CODES
Code No. 11, 12, 14 Throttle position sensor system Probable cause
If the TPS output voltage is 4.8 V or higher when the engine is idling, the output D Malfunction of the throttle position sensor
is judged to be too high and diagnosis code No. 11 is output. If the TPS output D Malfunction of connector
voltage is 0.2 V or lower at times other than when the engine is idling, the output D Malfunction of the Engine A/T-ECU
is judged to be too low and diagnosis code No. 12 is output. If the TPS output voltage
is 0.2 V or lower or if it is 1.2 V or higher when the engine is idling, the TPS adjustment
is judged to be incorrect and diagnosis code No. 14 is output.

What he said. And, check/clean your speed sensors - input/output shafts sensors - as well as checking your transmission fluid.

Thanks for the reply, where is the speed sensors and the input/output shafts sensors ? cheers

They're electrical connections into the transmission itself. At the back of the box; one more near the output shaft, the other just up before it. Contact cleaner. Do one at a time to avoid confusion, though its very unlikely.
I'll see if I can find a pic'....

Best I can do - the plug you're wanting to check/clean is item 7 in this image.
