Hi everyone

I got the BlueVision headlights today, they are good, they look very clear and white, much better than the stock ones I had (it was 3 years old though).

But its not really blueish at all, So if you're after a blueish Skyline like effect then you better look for soemthing in a different class, I got the 4000K ones, they are pure white, sometimes a bit yellow. Maybe a 6000k is more blue but not sure where you can get a 6K for halogen bulbs, maybe only HID?

$25 a bulb + 2 wedge bulbs for the parkers. To a total of $50.

Sure, daytime or night time?

I want to see if I can get them exchanged for slightly bluer ones, as my LEDS make the cabin look weird, it's like fluorescent white with purple :/ really awkward looking.

My photos are there.

1. No headlights

2. LED Parker headlights (looks heaps more purple in real life, heaps more purple)

2. LED Parkers + the Philips BlueVision (looks more yellow in real life, definitely not that white to the eye when looking at the headlights, BUT the lights that hits the road is.)

Hope that helps

Turns out, what I have is the most legal, anything else and it's not ADR approved.

just installed 5000k diamond visions. they don't even look blue compared to my angel eyes. no way i will ever get defected. light output is still quite good especially on high beams

I was told that one was illegal (or rather not ADR compliant), Mine are just 4000k. My question is, is the blueish Projector lights that Hondas etc. have legal? it it is stock then obviously it must be alright?

I heard 6000k is max, anything more and you're 1. being a jerk to otehr drives and 2. going to attract the wrong attention?

Factory fitted HIDs are usually 4300k - which is more or less white (with a tiny bit of yellow). You can see a bit of a blue reflection in the lens, but the light output is white. And yes, it's legal because it's standard.

I don't think it really makes a difference to other drivers. The higher the colour temperature, the less light output there is - if anything, I'd say they're less annoying to other drivers. Although blue headlights are a great way to scream 'my vehicle has been modified, come and defect me'. The bluer the light, the more fatiguing it is to drive to as well. Might not be a huge issue around town but I'd hate to be on a long country drive with blue lights.

That's also why anything above about the 4300-5000k mark is for looks and not performance.

Oh thanks, excellent information.

I heard that the blue light looks blue because the other colours in white light are somewhat filtered, meaning you'll only get a fraction of the light output as you're showing mainly blue light spectrum of white light which is made up of I think 7 or 8 different colours?

I was lead to believe that my headlights will be a bit blue from the marketing.... :/ but it's still better than the stock ones I had (but then again it was 3 years old, so the output would be dimmer right?)

Yeah I feel your pain. I have BlueVision parkers... and let's just say they're no match for my HIDs lol

And yeah, halogen bulbs do lose light output over time.

The BlueVision globes arent meant to be blue what so ever. If you check the specs on the back, you can tell by the Kelvin ratings that they are only a little bit whiter than normal globes. "BlueVision" is just a name for the globes, a bad choice of name if you ask me, how ever if you are looking for the best value for money globe with the most output then these are the globes you want.

If you want a bluer light you will be looking a the "Ultra Blue" globes.

The Bluevision globes are actually coloured Blue but once powered up produce a nice crisp white light..Autobarn have a working phillips display so you can compare colour outputs.

Yeah the graph on the back says it is white at 4000k. But the marketing and the photos on it shows that the headlights will look a bit blue but will produce white light. But I only see white lights in the headlights as well as the light being output.

I prefer the LED over the BlueVision bulbs (parker)

Trust me white is more 4300k+. it has a blue reflection in the para but even 4300 isn't very white, you can still see yellow in the light and plenty of it. However going over 4300 won't give you outstanding light output.
