You may as well get all topend gaskets, 2x rocker covers kits, comes with spell if seals, cam plate seals front and back, and inlet manifold, cost me $87 from sprint for all that

Beer. and cheap women.

Seriously, if you don't bend the inlet manifold gasket you can reuse it. If you have the cash, check you need to replace the valve cover gaskets. Easier to do them all in one hit.

Mark your leads, mark everything so you don't get things backwards when you're putting it back together. Unlike somebody I know... er, a "friend", yeah a friend.. not me, may have stuffed this up when they last did it.

For the small cost of a gasket its best to replace them. Have you got a torque wrench? You will need one cause you dont want to over tighten the intake plenum bolts and dont forget to tighten them from the inside out if you know what I mean. Other than that its a pretty straight forward job and just a standard tool kit is needed.

Just replaced plugs and leads for a friend last week as his car was misfiring under load. We replaced the leads and plugs only. We just took the bolts of the intake manifold off. There were approximately 7 bolts off the top and 3 at the back. we took the bolts off the EGR pipe and there is a metal gasket that may fall down. Took off the MAF together with pipe. There was no need to take anything else off. we left everything else attached and just blocked the intake ports with cloth to prevent any loose objects finding their way into the engine.

We then replaced the leads and plugs one at a time to avoid confusion. Because we had left most pipes and cables still attached to the throttle, we just tilted it to replace the rear plugs and leads. All up everything took about an hour to do.

WHATEVER YOU DO, JUST BE CAREFULL YOU DON"T DROP ANYTHING INTO THE OPEN INTAKE PORTS!!!
