want to put lowered springs on my tl vr limited but wanted to see how it sits with the koni shocks to decide what height to go. not sure if the koni struts will change the ride height in any way. would love to see some pics. thanks joseph

Have a flick through the members machine section, a fair portion of members have lowered their cars. I'll start you off with MRBSHI1's TL VR (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59626) (with VR-X kit lol). He says he's on King Lows with the Konis.
The Lows will drop a sports model about 40mm, give or take. They remain a reasonably practicable height.
I aleardy got shocks and spring from Ebay. Very cheap price, $350. I think if you want low the car best way is change the shocks and springs together.

The Koni Shocks that the OP's car comes with would be amongst the best shocks you could get on a Magna.
If they're aged it would be worth looking at rebuilding them while they're off the car, but there's no way I'd replace them.

Brad_03TJ in Qld, has a missus with a VRX Limited Edition on Kings, VRX_chick (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/member.php?u=23605), its Steven Bradburys old prize (yes the Olympic Gold Ice skater). There are Pics somewhere.
But I absolutely agree with Red_Valdez, the Konis that are OEM fitment to the LE's, reconditioning of those shocks should high on your list of priorities.

the car has 105ks so dont think they need replacining or reconditioning. ive had a tf for about 5 years with monroe and king super low front and low rear it sits really well and handles really well but want to see if i can go with just low at the front of the TL as i am over the violent bang when i hit potholes.
thanks for te suggestions i will check them out

TL vrx's on superlows would be very low indeed. Not at the wheels, but at the body kit. If its your sunday driver I would drop it on SL's, but for a daily, big gutters, shopping centers and speed bumps etc, I would go lows.
You wont have to repair the front bar as often. Not 100 %sure on this, but the sl have nice habit of killing normal height struts.
And there is the option of the qld made spring. Its said to be firmer. Dobinsons lows.
But I am soft. (old). lol
Or you could just get coilovers. :drools:

After 8 years or so and 105,000km I would definitely consider reconditioning them. They don't need to be done, but labour for suspension isn't cheap, and it's something that would have to be done in the not-too-distant future imo.

Superlows have sfa travel and aren't an overly stiff spring. Hence they are prone to bottoming out. Lows are a much more comfortable ride.
If you have a violent bang, your bump stops are probably worn out. I had King Lows installed at 100,000kms and my bump stops were disintegrated by 150,000km. Rode fine until you hit a bump - then you really noticed it. Superlows would only be worse. Queensland's craptacular roads don't help.
