I want to do something my old man did to one of of his Commy Autos a long time ago.
Just two things I want to know.
Is it possible?
How do you do it?

OK.
When you lift off the accel pedal, the throttle is held open, by vaccuum I presume, until, a certain amount of time has passed, or you touch the brake pedal, or you downshift in tippy mode.

I haven't yet timed it, but I think its about 3-5 secs before the throttle is let go.

I want it down to about 1 sec, just to get a bit better control.

Can any one help here?

touch the brake pedal within 1 sec, :learn:

this would a little save fuel also?

Thanks for the incredible amount of thought and technical expertise that you have, unselfishly taken, possibly minutes of your valuable time to enlighten us all, really, I don't know what to say.

Unsure as what you wanting, so you want the transmission to shift harder/ faster? Look for a shift kit, it will firm up the springs in the auto box. I have a website but it on my laptop. Sorry :/

Sarcasm doesn't really come across well in writing.

Now, technically, it can be done -solenoids, switches etc - but why? There are good reasons why a throttle butterfly should close as soon as you take your foot off the throttle. You might be better off with standard cruise control.

In an effort to make an auto a smoother ride, the car manufacturers placed a delay in the TB so when you lifted your foot, the car did not decelerate immediately, whilst, yes it makes for a smooth ride, it lowers the amount of control I have on that car.

I have a TW, thats the toy. They have Cruise fitted standard.

Couldn't you ask your old man how he did it on the Holden?

Could put a tee piece in the vacuum line and put a bleed valve off the tee piece. So you just have a smaller amount of vacuum?
