View Full Version : 2000 TJ Magna 3.5 V6 Wagon
Hi Everyone, just installed second hand auto in the above, test drove, everything OK, parked it, told my nephews daughter to come and pick it up, won't start. Cranks over, won't fire. No apparent reason. Has anyone any ideas on this. Cheers,

Does it have spark? Is the center lead plugged in right in the distributer? Coil maybe?
OK this will do your head in. Tried to start the car a day later, started first go. Drove the car around for 2 days restarted at least half a doz times, advised nephews daugher to come and pick it up again, thought I would try to start it again on morn of pick up and cranks over will not start again. When running runs perfectly. I can hear a click inside the cab when turning ignition to start position. Has anyone out there experienced immobiliser problems? This is very wierd. Open to any suggestions. Cheers.

Is the nephew's daughter using a different key to start it?

Possibly try removing the driver's panel around the ignition, and check / re-seat the wire from the imobiliser coil. Worth a shot, a few people have indicated a loose connection can cause similar symptoms.
Thanks mate, local mitsi dealer indicated the same, otherwise he said these cars are bullet proof so to speak. I will get back to you all and let you know how it goes. Cheers.
sounds like the typical immobiliser wiring issue. Any auto leccy can check it for you, easy fix.

Doesn't want to go back to your nephew's daughter? Sounds like an immobiliser issue
