I have had the Magna for 3 years and have added a Sub when I first bought it, recently changed all front end lights, 3 months after changing the lights It has been blowing the (No.2) Fuse in the engine bay, 10amps.

This fuse circuit has the parker light, tail lights, interior centre console lumination and dashboard cluster lumination on it.

The symptoms started as the fuse would blow and then I replaced it and it was fine for a few weeks then it progressively go worse. Firstly I changed the dashboard dimmer (free from wreckers) as when I had the lights on and drove with it dimmed it would at one point increase to full brightness. Soon the fuse blew, normally occurred normally taking a corner while indicating and varying degrees or acceleration.

I tried a second and a third dimmer and all had the same result accept for a short while when the fuse would blow immediately on turning the light to the on position. After checking all globes I found the rear right tail light globe to be damaged and blackened but still working, now replaced.

Now I'm running without any deck on, no sub hooked up, no heater or A/C on. I was advised to see a battery/alternator specialist. Found out the Voltage regulator brushers were gone and the alternator wasn't returning the correct voltage, new Alternator and Voltage regulator ($245, including install). I dove out the place with the lights on all good no increased brightness to full when dimmed. The next day she blew a fuse.

Any ideas, help are welcome I will update when there has been a change or anything worth noting.

Just a question, when you checked all the bulbs again, did you look at the front parkers?... I know they are a PIA to get to..... Are they 100%

Did the Auto elec think the two incidents were related?

With the rear blown parker bulb, was the base blackened, or the the glass blackened.

Do you have any water or water marks on the front passenger floor?

Hey SHOOT,

Well the first time I changed the parkers I dropped one and removed the whole front end to get the light housing out and the remove the globe (like one of those wooden box Labyrinth games with the steel ball bearing). The Parkers are fine.

I had all things on the circuit removed and still blew fuses immediately. I first changed the indicator stalk with my dads magna and it blew again. then I got pissed off and pull out the centre console/interior. When I got to the deck, I found a wire that said ATT on it coming form the cd player but that was terminated and with a papery plastic label, there was one more wire that was from the deck striped but not coneccted to anything, behind that hidden in the wiring loom was a wire from the car this was also stripped. I held it clear from the chassis and turned the light on and the fuse didn't blow the instant I touched it to the frame the fuse blew.

My only problem now is do the two stripped wires belong together or not, I connected them and it al worked fine, I still don't know what to do with them yet.

With your other questions, the Auto Elec wasn't sure about the Bulb, He did say that the lights when on with the fuse blown or not should brighten and dim if there is an alternator problem. The head lights didn't brighten or dim. With the rear bulb the glass was blackened and no water or makes on the passenger floor.

Thank you for your attention and no I didn't install the cd player.

what color is the existing wire from the car? could be the wire that dims the orig deck lights once lights are switched on?
