Hey guys,

looking into getting some side markers for my Verada KH Xi. Any ideas where I can get some from?? I've looked on eBay USA, which they did have them but there will be a few issues with postage to Australia.

After speaking with a few people, they have mentioned that it is illegal to have red side markers?? and that they should be amber/orange?

I'll probably be getting these of a US Diamante, and the lenses are red...

I assume they will only be on while you have the headlights on?
If they are, it wouldn't very noticeable, unless you have some super-duper bright LEDs. I cant find anything in VicRoads saying it is illegal, cant say the same for NSW though. Have a browse on the RTA website I guess, looking under lighting.

I'm pretty sure it's not illegal if they are orange......The Volvo s40 s70 v40 etc all have them as standard.

IIRC Old XB XC falcons and Kingswoods had similar things too, but these were half red half orange.

My flatmates Capri convertible had red rear side markers, he never got questioned by the cops.

from what i recall, it's only illegal if its on the front of your car- eg. those red/blue light-up spray jets or parking lights.. and it's obvious for the reason behind that

as for the rear side markers, i highly doubt it's illegal. and i haven't heard of anyone having troubles with the law with them- and this includes me

I think technically red should only be at the rear, side should be orange; maybe it could work if you used yellow LEDs behind the red lense?
