im having a bit of a prob okay my dad topped up my tranny fluid fluid cause it was down not much but it has stopped it loosing reverse when its cold normally i would back up to the top of the driveway and as soon as i hit the top it would slip into N but yeah just put it in park back in reverse and its back but thats not the prob

since he put the fluid in ive noticed that if i floor it or hold the car in gear 1 it will be fine until it gets to 3000 revs it will just loose power and fluctuate something shocking until it drops into second its fine what could this be

oh yeah since he put the fluid in i can smell auto burning when i stop the car i dont hold it any further than 2500 in 1st now but what do you guys think a service might work has anyone had this prob in there 1st or 2nd gen auto its really annoying cause i cant drag 800cc cars of the line anymore and win :D

i think its time for an upgrade to a manual box :D ... i don't know much about the autos and to tell u the truth... i dont want to know anything about them. they are crappy. honestly, i dont think they are worth spending anymore money on. get a manual box. u wont regret it! that is my input :)

Sounds like you have filled it with the wrong auto transmission oil.

Mitsubishi's requrie a specific oil for there auto boxes.

You may need to flush and fill it with the proper stuff.

yeah i thought that cause it only started burning and jolting when it was topped up so can anyone reccomend and auto fluid that they use in there 1st gens

i would love to get a manual box but i dont even make 200 a week and im actually thinking of saving up once i fix the auto prob (hopefully only the fluid) and then i will get a 6 either a falcon or a commodore im leaning towards VL for sure

hmmm sounds similar to the rev problem i had. It could be transmission or it could be something else. i replaced my spark plugs and it fixed the problem, but yours could be totally unrelated :)
