Does anyone have any ideas how much i would be expecting tto pay for a Sports exhaust. I am looking at getting the rear muffler with the dump tip, think they came out on tj sports, not 100% on that though.

I am going to try my local wrecker in Adelaide tomorrow, Fingers crossed they have one, I am getting over this quiet car,

But at the same time, don't wanna get ripped off!

Okay, my price list goes something like this;
Lukey rear - $220 fitted myself
Center Resonator - $120 fitted
Headers - $cha-ching! Expect to pay anything from $650 (eBay) to $890 (rip-off exhaust shops) for the headers and extra for fitting. Some exhaust shops will sting you three hours labour to fit extractors.

I did see a cat-back system by Redback on ebay for $355. Freight might hurt you though.

Mitsfix on the forums here can get HM Headers. Its worth checking him out for a price at least.

Asking for opinions on which headers to buy (if any) to get can cause a stir on the forums. Search first, research and ask somebody who knows what they're talking about before committing to buy.

$150 is the most you should be paying for one of these IMO, and I would say closer to $120.... I paid $140-150 for mine used which is the exact one you're after. In all honesty, you can get a brand new Lukey for around $200, why pay more than 150 for a used muffler?

Unless Eddies have one, wouldn't even bother with that other place over at Grd Junct Rd. These are not a loud muffler either... louder than stock but still quiet for a sports muffler.

Thanks for the responses. Probably going to buy the muffler off of MR SPL's KJ GTV providing the rear flange is the same on my tf? Cant see why it wouldnt be?

Sorry bout getting there first :) can say its not as loud as it was found a small hole (about a 1 cent piece size) on the centre section on one of the bends whacked some tape over it for now. Sounds nice and quiet now when I drive but its hard for me to compare as its been sounding like a truck with the old one for so long.

For mine:

Redback cat-axle pipe $190
Rear muffler (3A Racing straight through twin tip) $60
Installation, custom axle-pipe $160

Total cost $410.00, no drone, no rasp, a nice clean note, and within legal dB limits (I got dB tested by a highway patrol on Sunday afternoon on the way to melb).

Thats ok.

I ended up buying one on eBay. Costing me $100 delivered (coming from nsw to adelaide so im happy) and looks identical to the one you got. think it came off a tj sports. So who knows what it will sound like.

Wagna, i havent done extractors yet, i have already upgradrd the centre pipe from the cat to the rear muffler and replaced the centre resonator for sonething much smaller!!

I then fitted my TJ sports muffler and it is a massive improvment. Still reasonable quiet, till you give it some boot! I fitted myself so no labour cost.

However for everything, this has cost me about $350 for memory
