Hello everyone,
I'm in talks at the moment with hyperdrive, about a better auto then the Standard F4A51... For my new 6G74, The answer is the F4A33, will these auto fit on to the 6G74 Australian sohc block, I believe there out of the 3000gt's and are a 4speed auto as well, be awesome to get some feed back,

Aren't the motors in the 3000gt on the passenger side mated to a 6a12/6a13t motor? If so then I guess it won't go, otherwise we'd have manual AWD Magnas getting about.

Edit: Motor is a 6g72 mounted on the passenger side.

I know the F4A51 and W4A51 are two? Are ther any others ?, like the ralliart auto?

Why don't you just build the standard gearbox stronger? Regardless of what gearbox you use, you'll still run into problems because of the large amount of torque you'll be producing.

You can get a whole bunch of gearboxes to mate up to the 6G74, question is how deep are your pockets? Custom bellhousings/custom adapter plates aint cheap.

There's about 20 or so different gearboxes that are a direct bolt on. From hyundai, mitsubishi, dodge, kia. They are variations of 5 or 6 speed manuals or 4 or 5 autos, some with awd. I don't think they'd be any better or worse than what we are running.

3000GT is a 6G72 DoHC but is the wrong way around for your car so no it will not fit

As above, you are better getting your trans done up to suit, Ralliart run the same trans as the other 5sp auto so no benefit there at all

Thank you everyone, this is the problem, manuals only handle 500hp, and sadly the F4A51 with money spent can only be made to handle a max of 500hp.. Ahahahaha

What the hell, i think this next comment should be made a sticky in tech areas

GEARBOXES AND TRANSMISSIONS ARE RATED TO TORQUE FIGURES, NOT POWER.

This.

What the hell has power got to do with anything? Power is a number made by torque and rpm, hence gearboxes are rated to torque, not power.

Any transmission place with half a brain can make up uprated parts to go in your transmission.

30psi?! HUH?! GT42 @ 30psi on a 3.5L V6 will probably make at least 800Nm...

Sorry if i came across as a douche but i have repeated myself about it so much that i get urges to scoop my eyes out with a spoon each time.

30psi is pretty ballsy, i would be looking at driveshafts and CV joints before gearbox. With those sorts of numbers you will snap a shaft or strip the joint knuckle as soon as its making full boost. Gearbox should be OK as long as you are gentle, EGO has a stock 5sp and a heavy-ish clutch and its doing OK...

Do the smart thing and do what your doing to an AWD magna then you have the lancer GT-A community to help out with autos, cv's and what not
