i started out with a full tank and a reset trip meter yesterday morning. did a trip yesterday and again today to the city and clocked up 245km. when i refilled i could only fit 17L in and i know it wasnt quite full when i set off.
so on that basis ide get 16.5km/L and out of the 74L tank ide get over 1200km. i cant see this happening but the facts are the facts i suppose. seems very odd. and i drive it pritty hard too. allot was also slow traffic.
so anyway whats everyone's thoughts on this. i do have a gen 2 motor and a 5 speed manual in the TP wagon. timing is set to what ever the last bloke had it lol. leads and plugs are old too. so whats going on under my bonnet? is there a lawn mower engine sitting in there?

I used to get over 850 kms out of my old wagon every single time :)

In my 2nd gen manual I get bang on 10l/100km around town. This drops to about 8 on the freeway, can get from Adelaide to Melbourne on a tank, with 4 litres left over.

Just after we replaced the engine in mine I had to take her to wagga from here (malee), went on a full tank, 250km - 22 liters.. give or take when i filled at Danniliquin, and then about the same in Wagga/Junee cheapest trip i've done.. right up until the poitn i locked my keys in the car coming back at Danni.. then it became the most expensive..
I've spent 2 grand fixing the magna (and it's still not perfect) But i'm not begruding it.. compared to my gas guzzling ford.. the magna is heaven.. power windows, (Busted) central locking, aircon (so long as i manually go down and change it from heat over.. ) cruise control.. etc the only problems i'm having with her now is literally 1. she's running on and we can't work out why.. and 2. the busted central locking and aircon.
car gods are truly looking down you, for some reason the 3rd gen just done 260km to a full tank be looking into that one this weekend for sure
