Hi people,
I am having aproblem with my 97 magna Exec (boring I know) - but the key no longer works, I think he calb has come loose.
I need to remove the lining from the doors, So far i have tried all the info found at the forum to remove the fabric trim but no joy - any suggestions
heyllo
with regard to ripping ur doors off, wind your window fully down, then u need to remove three screws. one is on the cylinder vent hole thingo on the front of your doors, second is inside your door handle, and the third is in the bottom of your door handle pockets, under a plastic rectangular thing. remove all the screws and the window winder. u can remove the window winder by disengaging a c-clip with a screw drive. its a b!tch to get out first, but once u do the first one, the rest take about 10s to do. u'll get what i mean ;) the door handle surround should come loose so u can take that out.
after that, pull the door trim towards you to unclip all the clips, then upwards over the window. watch out for the black triangular piece on the front of your doors when u lift the trim up.
i think madmag had posted up a tutorial regarding the removal of the door trims....somewhere.
note: a very brief description. good luck

Theres only those 3 screws, other then that a heap of clips which just pull straight out. If you feel along the bottom of the trim, theres a bit in the middle where you can fit your fingers into, which allows you to easily pull the trim towards yourself, dislodging the clips, don't worry these clips are pretty hard to break, and every time I've done it, bout 10 door trims now, none of them have broken. Be sure that you remove the grey plastic moulding around the door handle, if you don't then your going to end up breaking a little clip that help holds the moulding in nice and tight. Once you dislodged the clips pull the door trim straight up to dislodge it from the within space where the window glass slides in and then your all done. Don't be afraid to use a bit of force, unless something still does feel very solid or if it feels as if somethings going to break. Its pretty easy once u get the hang of it. Just to double check, have you actually removed the window winder???
Yeh, don't worry if u do use a bit of force. Yank the thing out towards you then up. Clips are cheap anyways....i think
