Hey guys,
Been friggen annoyed at this sub as I cannot get it to work and I swear its probably the simplest thing to fix it. I purchased the Xenith X1 series Cadence amp + sub and have wired it all up except I cannot get the sub to work. Ive tried googling how to wire it up, but nothing specific come up and it has different outputs on the amp to most.
It has the two RCA pairs, one input and one output and I have connected the RCA to my head unit to input. However I dont have RCA inputs for the sub, so I dont know how to connect it.
Ive connected the ground, remote and 12V and its all working fine.
Along side the above terminals are 4 screw in terminals, two are in which for a single 2 OHM sub and then the other two terminals are for two subs @ 4 OHM. I have a speaker cable running from the sub to the single 2 OHM terminal and it doesnt appear to be making any sound. The amp is working fine.
Any help is appreciated,
Cheers,
Physicx.
Trying to diagnose this sort of thing on-line can be very challenging. I see two problems preventing you from having any sound, but I'm assuming that one of them is a grammatical error. :)
The other is you say you're using the headunits "Input" RCAs - this doesn't sound right.
Your subwoofer should have 2 or 3 output RCAs - Front, Rear & hopefully Subwoofer. If you have Sub Out RCAs, use that, otherwise probably rear is next best option.
But failing that, is there someone you can take it to have a checkup ?
eg: I'm in Kellyville if that's at all close to you. I'm no pro, but I've done about 5 headunit swaps and installed Amp & Sub 3 times. I think this "shouldn't" be too hard for any experienced amateur to solve.
Cheers + good luck.
Graham.
Dude take it to a car audio store. They'll charge sfa as it's already all wired up for them. If you cant get the wiring right then your not going to get the tuning right either, you'll end up killing your sub, amp, or both and it'll end up costing you more than it would have originally.
My advice to other people is it not throw any suggestions at the OP. You don't want to be partly responsible if something bad happens.

Could some one please take a look @ my profile, i have made a rather dick of myself explaining. I have posted 2 pic's of a out of production sub box made for sony x-plod 2/4 year's ago, i have the the specification's size but it didn't give me what sub usage i would need for 2. so i'm asking if any 1 who is more technical brain wave than i am, what i could use in it.

Have you got the model number, or the link to the page, and the amp you want to run the subs with.

unfortunatly no, it was amongst all the american bulk sell web link details, which only give the box spec's. the sub are new sony XSGTX120L or XSGTR120L which are on the market now but dont make an amp powerful enough to run both.
