Hey guys got an unusual issue with my series 2 tj sports,

The instrument lights in my dash board go on & stay on whenever I turn on ignition/engine but they wont switch on say when the reds/car is switched off & I flick the lights on.

Lights in centre consul work normal though. just seems strange that these lights are always on, even in broad day light, I purchased the car 3 months ago & noticed it at the dealer, I thought it might of been normal because I tested a TJ LE in the next door car yard & that did the same thing.

IS this normal? does anybody elses instrument lights perminently stay on when car in use??

My TJ 2 is on whenever the ignition is on. Shortly after I got it I was driving along late afternoon and it got dark, I couldn't figure out why everyone was flashing their lights at me. Then it dawned on me that I never turned the headlights on because the dash was already lit up. I got autolights now.

The lights in the dash are LED so they should never burn out and will not use much power.

Yea its normal... Kind of annoying tbh.

Cheers guys good to know its nornal, most of the time i dont mind it anyways thought it wasnt good for bulbs but if they're LED then thats ok.
