Hey Guys
So im a little confused at the moment, my mate found a site where they make customs manifolds for the magna 3.5l and claim a 20kw gain. Its called Street Fighter manifold heres the site to it.

Anyway i tried looking into it here on the forums and saw people talking about the street fighter 2. So i was just wondering if its the same manifold or if there is a difference between the two. Im having trouble finding anything about it on google.
Thanks heaps Rick

I had the Street Fighter 2 and 20kW gain is pretty optimistic..

I felt like it had a little more punch and revved out a little easier.. But thats about it.. A few other people have had them and have been extremely happy with them..

Spend the money elsewhere like cams and a tune first

+1 to this - not to mention the IPRASA and VIC guys who race Magnas all run the factory manifold.

Money wise - I dont think so..

Price v Performance... A cam upgrade would be money better spent..

^ If the cams are large enough, yes.. the car would sound lumpy.

You dont NEED the tune but it is DEFINITELY beneficial.

Lumpy.. Not that I've heard of..

380/ralliart cams are small in duration and have bugger all overlap, so no they wont lump at idle... Get a pair of 272deg cams and then yes the car will have a mildly "lumpy/lopey" idle.

Ok good to know I most likely will get 380 Cams. I live in Melbourne any good dyno tuners in my area? I keep reading about SKR in South australia, that he his the best with magnas in Australia. Is he really that good should I road trip it to SA?

Well seeing as the guy worked on them as his daily job up until 2007 (in MMAL R&D section), id say he has a wealth of knowledge on them.

Im sure others on here will tell you more about him.

are the 380 inlet manifolds a better design then the magna manifold? does anyone knows if there's a benefit to using the 380 manifold

It depends what you want.

SKR can tune the stock magna ECU without need to change it, but now so can other shops in NSW.

Alternatively you can get a piggyback ECU tuned by your local tuner.

Hey Disciple
When it comes to that kind of stuff i must admit i have no idea. What would the difference be between them and which one would be best advised? cheers

The main difference will be price. A flash tune of your stock ECU (so in easy to understand terms, it just means that a workshop tunes the computer that is in your car now) is cheaper (~$400-$600), but not as readily available. Whereas a piggy back computer (meaning a new computer that is used in conjunction with your current one) is more expensive (anywhere from $1000-$1800), but is more readily available with more tuners able to tune a specific after market piggy back computer.

Both options will yield very similar results.
