Im looking for a amplifier for my speakers (cadence 6.5" splits front stage; kenwood 330w 6x9 rears) Im not sure what kind of power my speakers can handle, but i reckon 50rms + to each should be sufficient. Brand wise im not really picky, I'm looking for more of a bang-for-buck. Cheers :)

Because of the logarithmic nature of the decibel, you're better off getting a good quality lower power 2ch amp than a high power crappy amp, whether 2 or 4 channels.. remember, twice the power output only results in a 3dB volume increase.. you need ten times the power to get double the volume.

meh.. look into cadence 4 channel amps and fusion 4 channel amps. Both better bang for buck than other brands and not cheapo parts/manufacturing like response amps etc. Ask a cadence dealer about their "Momentum" Series. Apparently very good and very cheap.

Checked out the momentum 4 channel amp today while i was at complete audio today. $399 for 4x 90wrms or 2x 250wrms.
Made by Cadence, which is starting to become a reputable brand.

Cam.

Which model was that? I can't find any that are 4x90 on the site?

I'm a bass player and the simple rule is the more the amp can push the better, I have a 900 watt bass amp, I run on about 3, this gives maximum head room and your car is no difference, get the highest, best amp you can. I would look at a minimum of 100 a channel but a good 100 watt amp. Alpines V12 amps are good, you may pay 700 or so for it but it will have enough head room and power to drive the speakers cleanly, which is most important

I don't know if it is even on the website, is a fairly new line for Cadence and i'm even sure if they brand it under that company name. Talk to a cadence dealer about it. JB HiFi and Complete Audio. You may even be able to haggle down to $350?

Cheers,
Cam.
