I put 16" alloy TJ rims onto my TS wagon, and all was fine until I hit a spoon drain with the steering wheel cranked to the right at very low speed and got a scraping noise from the front. I put the 15" steel rims back on. So I imagine 380 rims will do the same. Can you try before you buy? Fronts at least.

That may be because you went from 205/65R15 on 15x5.5 +46 offset wheels which has an overall diameter of 647.5mm to 215/60R16 on 16x6 +46 offset wheels which has an overall diameter of 664.4mm. That is why you had rubbing issues and is an illegal increase in OD. If the OP got the 380 wheels with the standard fitment tyres (215/55R17) then the overall diameter would be bigger again at 668.3mm. The OP will need to fit 225/50R17 tyres (656.8mm overall diameter) on to keep it within legal requirements and not be a big issue with rubbing.

The alloys will fit with no issues, getting the right tyres is the tricky part.

Most reputable tyre places will, it doesn't hurt to know yourself though so you can check out catalog prices.

Madmax you should go for 205/55/r16 there the same over all diamante as the 14" factory wheel combo :D As for the op just look online for a wheel calculator on line and do some general research first about tyre sizes :)

Still have to buy 2 more tyres for the TJ alloys, they are collecting cobwebs in the shed at the moment. lol I will get 205 X 55 just for the front, the new 215 X 60 can go on the back. Problem solved!
On the other hand, I could just put them on my TJ once the current tyres wear out. lol Then again I lent the TJ to my daughter, and it looks like I might have to buy another TJ or such when the gearbox in the 17 year old TS finally pukes its guts out, because my daughter REALLY likes the TJ and doesn't want to give it back. Decisions, decisions . . . . iFail at making iDecisions. lol

I really want a cheap hail damaged TJ wagon to play with. Must start looking . . . .
