Hey guys,
Just wondering if wiring up LED's under the dash around your feet was hard and if anyone would be able to instruct me on how to do it? I haven't really done much wiring previously but I'm wanting to have a go if it's not too hard. Also, is there anyway of wiring them so they come on when the doors are open? I'm thinking of just buying a few cheap LED strips off eBay so if anyone's had any experience with them feel free to provide input.
Any help would be great
Thanks
JP

I wired mine off the big red wire behind the ignition, and wired them to a switch. They can then be turned on whenever the battery is connected.
To mount them i used double sided tape, 3M outdoor stuff and they have stayed there.
Only problem is because I have big feet I kick them sometimes and have broken one, not hard to replace except you have to get into the footwell
which is not comfortable.

What model do you have? My tj already had the wiring taped into the loom, so all I had to do was find it

Oh yeah sorry it's a '98 TF Executive wagon. Is there any chance of setting the airbag off if I do it wrong?

Where about's under the dash would i find the wiring for doing this mod on my TJ, is there any particular colour or is there perhaps a plastic terminal plug on the end of the wiring and is this on both sides. Since i am very interested in doing this mod also does any one know about the door cards if the wiring is already in the door looms to work with the interior light as a courtesy light as well

There is a plug taped into the loom on both sides. The plug will be gray in colour if it is exposed, or will just be a large spot in the loom if it is taped up.
You can get the light housing from a u pull it out of a second gen, which will plug straight in. These and their covers are left and right (so make sure you get one of each).
Start with the passengers side as there is only loom. Remove the panel under the glove box, and follow the loom up until you find the plug, pull it free and plug in. The panel you removed has a spot to fit the globe holder. The drivers side is harder to find as there are multiple looms, but you will know what your looking for once you found the passengers side.
You can buy t10 LEDs from autobahn or eBay to fit
