View Full Version : TS Magna Head Unit
Hey fellas,
I've noticed that the standard stereo & casette deck in the KS Verada is identical to the one in the TS Magna SE, but with an auxilliary CD player. Is it possible to get the CD player from a KS verada and install it in the TS? (More to the point, is the necessary wiring already in the TS or is it easy to transplant anything necessary from the verada?).
Reason I ask is that I would like a CD player in my TS Magna SE (and also a casette player) and couldn't be bothered with the hassle of installing an aftermarket unit.
Cheers.

Waste of time I think. Most original CD players of that model would have died years ago. Fresh players are cheap and easy to install. But to answer your question - I've replaced a couple of standard TS tape decks, and there are no extra wiring evident for any extension CD player - Just your normal speaker pairs, power and earth.

I have a brand new KR/KS verada single disc CD player that i found in my stash of parts today. Its just a cd player by itself, no radio etc and just a single "lead/cable" that plugs into a radio/tape deck.... I believe this maybe what you are looking for.
I will take some pics tomorrow for you.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm looking for. Just trying to work out if it only needs to be connected by a single cable to the casette deck or if it requires separate power cabling/connector that the TS may not have.
Pictures would help greatly. Many thanks!

As long as your current "factory fitted" deck has the Round multi pin plug (i think its a 9pin plug) then that is all that is needed. The CD player draws its power etc thru that single cable/lead. This lead is already "hardwired" to the CD player

Excellent. Thanks for that.
