Hey!
I have a set of EVO 8 rims laying around (no tires on them). Does anyone know if these rims with 235-45 tires will fit without any issues on my Magna Wagon??
Info on EVO 8 rims:
ET: 38
Width: 8"
Dia: 17"
My car is currently on King lows with KYB chocks.
Help me out with this one. I really don't wanna buy brand new tires for my EVO 8 rims if they wont fit my Magna Wagon.
Thanks in advance!
The dimensions and offsets sound right from what I've read other people running.
But to be sure, you could take it to a tyre place and have them put some used tyres on - they might charge you $20 or so for labour for fitting & removing 2 or 4 tyres for a test fit (they don't have to balance them unless you're taking a serious test-drive), but then if your clearances are all fine and you buy new tyres, they might be very happy to have helped :)
Are you sure if 235-45-17 is the right size tyre though?

I'll check with the local tyre place if he has any tires with that size.
235-45-17 seems to be the best tire to run on 17" rims, if I want to keep the speedometer as accurate as possible. I could also run 225-45-17 tires! That would make the speedometer read 2% slower, which I really don't care that much about! :)
Right now I'm running on 225-50-17 tires on 6,5" width rims (Hyundai Sonata 05- rims, ET: 46), and it handles like crap, and the tires looks like "baloons" on the sides. Also I don't like the looks of these rims on my Magna Wagon.
Do you have any recommendations on tire size to put on EVO rims??
The 235/45 17s should be ok on the wagon. The 8" wide rim is suited to those dimensions. Offset is good also so you shouldnt have clearance problems.
That tyre size is also pretty common as it was used extensively on holdens and fords. Dont skimp on tyres either
