Hey all.

Had a bit of of a stuff up with my engine a couple months back. I had a sprintex kit in the past and recently a bullet kit.
I am doing a rebuild and will drop 5-10k on the engine.
For all you modded boost freaks out there a little bit of advise would be great.
What should i do?
where do i get it?
how much will it be?
should i increase boost etc?.

Obviously i have been searching the forums but it seemed a good idea to open a fresh thread for members to put fresh idea's into.

Cheers

hey my ralliart blew up and i dropped the 6G75 in and it set me back about 5k as i got a mechanic to put it in.

Another member to also speak to would be QMD801 as he is running 12psi i believe

But as a p plater i am loving my ralliart with just the 6G75 in it as it has plenty of torque

$5k-$10k for a fully rebuilt engine will only just to scratch the surface. You need to allow at least $15k for a full rebuild, then probably another $5k or so for the supercharger and install. Start with $20k, then allow another $2k-$5k for when things go wrong.

If it was really going to cost that much i would put it back to stock and go on a holiday instead :). Im not after a 500hp engine just something to take the current bullet setup with no problems. Im not spending more than 10k on parts and labor on this as its just not worth it.
But Im sure members have achieved this easily in this price range, keeping in mind i already have the supercharger.

Stock engine has enough power to keep anyone happy, and is more reliable if no other bits are bolted on.

Hence I vote for the STOCK engine and HOLIDAY. lol

It doesn't really matter how much power you're chasing, a built motor is still going to cost close to that. Take it from someone who's been there, take what you think it's going to cost, then double it and you'll be close.

Good luck though.

I hope not lol but thanks. Will see what the mechanic says once he strips it down through the week.

How on earth $5k, I suplied you the motor, there was not 2.5k surely in labour? You could have had the car frighted both ways cheaper lol

Any build you try and do will cost a decent amount of of $$ if you are doing it properly. By the time you look at internals alone the bill will be on its way up.

If you do a search in the FS section there is a member selling forged internals at the moment, this may be a good way go give this project a good kickstart

Thanks for that. Well i do know if its going to be over my price range i will just put another 3.5 or 3.8 for a couple grand and strap the blower to that and see what happens haha.
But i would love reliability and im kidding myself to think a stock engine can handle 200kw atw. It hasnt yet lol but i think that was due to the stress of the previous sprintex i had.

I'm using the highest output motor that you can get stock as a base for my build, then slapping on a super charger. And I've just found a way of intercooling my sprintex kit without using methanol - bulletcars sell little sandwich plate intercoolers that might do the job for me.

But yeah now having gone through everything I've done to get the 3.8L-M into the magna, I could have dropped a 4G63T or 4G92T in and gotten a ****tonne more power and a manual AWD.

I don't want to disrespect anyone else's thoughts or previous experience with FI on the magna. Again i know this kit went well for a long period of time on the old car it was on i just want to make sure i dont have to keep swapping engines every 3 months lol.

FIRE IS NOT NICE TO A ENGINE BAY...........lol
plus also the fact i was said replace all.......so it was all done
everything is brand new under bonnet except the power steering pump which needs replacing (if any one is selling a tl/tw one...)

also on a personal note the ralliart is singing mal :D cheers for everything

so why the motor is being pulled apart and assessed im still weighing up my options. I have found a good priced low k's 380 engine. Now as i understand it its basically the same as a ralliarts.
Does any know of any big differences i should know about and what exactly needs modifying to do the swap.
any info would be awesome.

Biggest difference would be an extra 300cc capacity and much better flowing heads.

the ralliart motor is much for muchness off the line as the 6G75 perhaps a tad quicker
where you feel it is when you start from 60......... SEX

what im sure most are forgetting is that your putting it in a ralliart, yes i imagine in a exec. the 380 motor would feel twice as quick as it did before
but thats not to say there would be tolerance differences, but thats the feeling i got

get on to mal at mits-fix a.k.a madmagna he hooked me up with motor then did the conversion and was more then patient with any issues that my mechanic and i had.
