So i'd like to get my interior done and i'm wondering if people could show me some photos of their interiors so i can gather idea. Can people also tell me how much it costed and what material was used.

Also, has anyone had power-windows put into their car? I have manual windows currently but would like to have power-windows fitted. Is there a business that can fit them?

Thanks!

mine is black leather with red sitching. they were about $800 for the set and i fitted them myself, in those pics they look a bit loose but since they have been tightened

Is leather hard to care for in a car? I see alot of cars that have very crinkled leather. I see this is in good condition though! =D

That's just the 'pleather' available on eBay isn't it?

It's pretty good value for what it is, but a genuine leather re-trim would be around the $2-3k mark.

If you have a base model, the most cost effective change imo would be to purchase a seats and door inserts out of a sports model or a Verada. A cloth interior out of those models wouldn't set you back more than a couple of hundred dollars.

Genuine leather needs conditioning every few months to keep it in optimal condition. I would do high-traffic areas (eg driver's bolster) more often.

I treat mine every 2 months.. I give it a good clean every fortnight though.

Its 8yrs old and im happy as ever with the condition of it..

Look for a Verada interior from the For Sale section.. They pop up often enough!

For the "leather" steering wheel, I use regular non-scented hand lotion, or barrier cream for hands, rub it into my hands and then rub it into the wheel...it keeps the leather looking new and soft to touch. (once it is absorbed well its not slippery)...and is good for you hands too...lol

Try this stuff, leatherique. Best you can get.

For the guys in SA, you can actually get it off the shelf at SA Paint Supplies in Hendon. At a cheaper price too!

Yep, got my Dodo Juice Born Slippy clay bar kit from them at a good price, paint has never looked so good. The $50 leather steering wheel restoration kit looks good, does Paint Supplies have this Dan?

My leather steering wheel cover is starting to show some wear in a couple of places, so I attacked it with Kiwi black shoe polish a few days ago. Made a slight improvement but still didn't bring the dull bits up like I want.

The shoe polish worked wonders on a couple of dash scratches though, a hairline one just under the clock and a deep one on the glovebox lid. Just kept on rubbing it in and polishing it back and eventually the scratches were almost invisible.

Tried it on some wider scratches on the drivers door kick panel (where the seat rails scratched it when someone else removed the front seat) but no good, the scratches are just too deep & wide.

As far as I know, the steering wheel kit is colour matched to your leather when you order it, as it is actually a dye. This means it's not an off the shelf product. Check out Leatherique's website (http://www.leatherique.com/).

Maybe you'd like to try the Dodo Juice clay bar kit? It's really good stuff, a lot better than the Meguiars clay bar kit I tried a couple of years ago. I have enough Born Slippy lube to last me a dozen cars and heaps of clay bar. Next SA meet?
