Hey guys
I went and looked at a 2002 TJ SI 3.5 Manual today
it has 134,000km on it and is dark blue in colour, body is straight and has a scrape on the back bumper bar. besides that is in as new condition interior is also in good condition, he want $4500
Would it be worth the Money or what Should I offer and what do I need to look for?
Thanks.

I hate these threads.
Dude. its worth what you are willing to pay! then its up to the seller to decide if that enough. low kms. manual. replace the bumper from the wreckers for under 500. should be sweet.
Check the usual things, oil in the engine bay, ask for a receipt showing the timing belt and plug have been done.
they are the main things.

I mainly asked, as I have no Idea about Magnas and what mechanical Issues to look out for.

The major magna problems are the flaking clearcoat and automatic gearboxes screwing themselves over. Both very obvious. Apart from that oil leaks and service history.

Regarding the rear bumper, talon bodykits in moorebank will repaint it in high quality paint for $220, if the scapes are deeper they charge extra $150 to take back to plastic, total $370..bargan.
I picked my TJ up from them today got my rear wing painted & GSR front lip spoiler fitted, awsome job & pretty good value too!

if its been looked after then not a bad price you can find cheaper too
but if you are happy with it that all that matters
if you dont know anything about cars id say ask to to take to a mechanic and say if he is happy with it then you will buy it this is to make sure nothing serious gonna happen etc clutch in these cost a lot and fitting will hurt your wallet also on the price thing rego effects the price too
if you had a little more could of got my beast

Clutch seemed good, No oil leaks, rattles or noises
The main thing that caught my attention was the Low KM's and after driving my mates TH Sports, I loved the way they drive and power delivery.
I will get it looked at as I know the Pull Type Clutch's are expensive, but I don't want an Automatic.
I will offer $4000 if he takes it. I will buy it if not I will keep adding to the money and buy a Sports or VRX
Shane, if you look hard enough you can get a VRX for $4000. I'd offer max $3500.
Major been done?
Any oil leaks? Check rocker covers, tube seals, cam seals, and sump.
How are the syncros?
Any CV clicking?
As for testing clutch, 50km/h step hill in 5th, flat foot - If it slips its on its way out.
Engine mounts?
Any hints of lifting clearcoat? If so, leave it... If it hasn't started you can polish/wax the shit out of it to give it another 10 years but if it has its respray time.
If you want to be able to neglect the paint a little, buy a white one (no clearcoat).
And you know to talk to me or ben about this shit :)

Yep, your definately right about the good ol clear coat, I did ask him about that he said they use good quality as well although I didnt ask them which one they use & I dont know enough about clear coat to know whats good & whats not.
They do however offer a 3 year guarentee on the finished product at least:)

Where are these $4000 VRX's ? The only one on Carsales under $6,500 isn't even a VRX but a Sports advertised as a VRX.

I've seen 2 sell in the past 5 weeks. One was red and FS on AMC, other was silver on carsales.
