My air conditioner is working fine but not cold enough for me at moment thermostat is adjusted at 10c is there anyway making it cooler and adjusting thermostat???
PS: Had my AC serviced and top up with gas and lubricant...

You say that the system was topped up with gas?
AC systems are sealed units - if it is loosing gas, then that is part of your problem as to not having very cold AC.
I think I read somewhere, that if it is pumping out air between 8 and 10degrees, the system can be considered as working optimally.
Dont quote me on that though - AC / auto electician stuff, is not my forte
EDIT - are you running the climate control in full auto mode? fan and vents on auto, just set the temp? Let it do its own thing and it works fine. (afterall thats the point of climate control - set and forget)
Also - the AC in my car, when knocked down to the blue dot / 18 on auto, will have iceicles forming quick smart in my car.
Also have it set to recirculate - this lets it cool down quicker and to a lower temperature.
My TL fluctuates between 6 and 9 degrees on recirc. with temp probe in air outlet.

System was top up and check for leaks all ok.. it cools down to 10c and was hopping to find out if it can be made coller then 10c looks like there is no mods for this...thanks

ok thanks for reply, 9c thats good and i was told thermostat is set at 10c on our models with other cars they have adjustable thermost...so today was 34c it was working quite good.. cheers

Not sure about what the thermostat is set to - the temps I quote were taken when driving round town stop start....driving at 50Kph it would hover around 6 then as soon as you slowed it went up to 7 and then 9 when stopped. It seems to be dependant on how much air is flowing through the condenser sitting in front of the radiator. I'd expect it to get much lower at 80kph. Other cars I've owned - jags and Commodores all would go down to 3 deg at the outlet on recirc. but like doddski I've heard that 8 to 10 is OK.

10 degrees is quite acceptable, although spec for our cars is 0-4 degrees.
does the compressor cycle out at that 10 deg?
best way to test is to set the fan speed to minimum, air to recirculate and, temp to minimum, then close the car up and listen for the compressor and fans turning on and off.
to carry out a performance test on the system then do as above but set the fan speed to maximum and set the revs to 1500 rpm for 20 minutes (vehicle mustn't be in direct sunlight, and it is preferable to be in an area with good air flow).
the evaporator temp may be colder than the vent temp due to hot air from the heater core getting past the heat blend flap, easiest way to test this is to check the vent temp when the engine is stone cold and compare to when it is at operating temperature.
Guys, there is a difference between what the thermostat is set to and what the air outlet temperature is. The thermostat temp is used to control the AC duty cycle, fan speed etc. The air coming out of the vents should always be the same temp give or take a few depending on outside temperature and load etc when set to cold. The KL has an adjustable termostate via the temperature dial. I normally set it to 24C for cold operation to provide comfortable cooling.
I've been told from sparkies, for home AC, if on cold, every degree below 24 that you set the thermostat to (which is the target temperature to reach, measured at the inlet), doubles you power consumption. Likewise, every degree set above 20C, for heating.
My old Commodore and also the Jag had 2 thermostats - one to monitor the cabin air temperature and one attached to the evaporator to monitor the evaporator temperature to prevent the evaporator icing up. Both work independent of each other and both had control over the compressor cycling - I'd imagine the Magna would be the same.
On my TL we set the temp to 19C for cooling due to Queensland heat and a red car that absorbs the heat.

Thanks for info will try it soon...yes compressor cycle out at that 10 deg cheers

Hi Vlad, i will try that too setting coldest and around 20c and compare difference between two settings cheers
