Hey all,

New member here. I have a TF wagon, which some how (and I don't know in which order) snapped an alternator belt, which wrapped around the harmonic balancer and separated the outer ring, then dented the timing belt cover causing the timing belt to bunch up and snap.

Long story short the motor is toast and I need a new one.

I bought the car for $500 with 6 months rego, so looking to go the cheap route if possible.

Who or where in Newcastle can supply and fit a second hand 3.0l v6 to my Magna?

Cheers

ewww nasty, good excuse for a 3.5 upgrade maybe, direct bolt in i believe, im sure someone will correct me if im wrong. now lets see, given prices where i am, and im convinced i live in the most expensive town lol, 3.5 from the wreckers, low ks, should be able to get for $350 at the very most, fitted, well, where i am, $1500. you could almost guarantee it would be half that if you look around hard enough

And while the motors out you should consider doing a bit of work to it beforehand to improve your driving experience....*cough* turbo *cough*.

Call riverside spades is Sydney. 3.5l will bolt in with minor modification and improve fuel Eco and power. Riverside charged $350 for a 6g74 3.5l with 3 mOnths warranty.

Thanks for the responses guys. Seems I can get a local motor from a wrecker for $600 but fitting will be around $1000 once you take into account new timing belt and fluids etc.

I have a few pm's to respond to as well....
