Hi all,

Some helpful chap saw fit to help adjust my sports badge today. Broke the 'SP' off 'SPORTS'. Thoroughly charitable of them.

I have the broken piece. What is the best way to fix it up - glue it or just get a new one? Self-fixable?

Anybody else had to do this before?

Get a new one from mitsu (only like $20) as it will look much better. Sorry im just a perfectionist lol

OR finish what the bastard started and debadge your car...

was wondering about the de-badge. if I rip the badge off, i assume there will be a hole left.

what is the best way to fill holes after de-badging?

Theres no holes with the new badges.

They have double sided adhesive to attach them.

Use some fishing line to 'cut' the tape in half behind the badge. Then use some teatree oil to rub off the remains of the gum.

As allways, bains right lol

Very easy job and looks classy, just don't rub the left over glue too hard otherwise you'll score the paint. Very easy and looks great. Id do it to mine but i like people know im driving a VRX

Bain, your the first guy I've seen that actually de-badges a car right... we have some real idiots bringing in their cars with scratches on the paint from using screw drivers. Fishing line of course will not scratch and therefore is the only safe way to de-badge the car. If the badges are a little hard to cut through, heat them a little with a hair drier, but not to much

Any other common alternatives to teatree oil for the non-naturalists among us ? :)

And would dental floss be as good as fishing line ?

When i did my TE a while back i used dental floss as its all i had at the time lol

I just heated the badge up with a hairdryer, cut them off and heated the glue a litte (not too much or you'll score the paint) and used a rag with warm sopy water. Did the job for my 96 as the glue they use is a *****

I debadged all my car except the VRX logo. :)

You'd be suprised at how many people ask what sort of car it is. No 3 point diamonds for me..

Im actually going to take off the 3.5 badges on the side as they detract from the smooth door lines.

I do have a Mitsubishi Magna fridge now.. :P

Get rid of em ;) IMHO, i ditched everything off the car and am glad I did.

Thou I was considering getting a small red 'Twin Turbo' badge for the back made up, but I'll have to paint shop chop and see.

Grease and Wax remover (available from any Autobarn) is awesome for getting glue off, and it doesn't eat the paint.
