So I was checking out various sites about a potential suspension upgrade and I came across this site: http://www.pcpa.com.au/store/d2-mitsubishi-380-adjustable-coilovers-suspension-street-spec.html

I'm pretty keen but is it legal? Do I need a permit? It says street spec but does it mean its street legal or is it just a name? DPI web site doesn't seem to be much help so and info would be appreciated.

Now that you mention it I have been told not touch anything pedders by a couple of people. I'm starting to see a lot of hate towards that mob.

If you want coilovers, check out Foozrcool's 380, he has a K-Sport set on his.

I see the coilovers in the OP have a delivery fee of $250... maybe they're made in the States for the Galant and shipped direct to Aus?

I've heard of D2 before for a small Toyota - recommendation was that they are not very suitable to daily driving, but the 380 ones could be different.

Considering it's about $1300 for spings & shocks, that's pretty good price. I haven't heard anything about D2 for quite a while. I think there was also a G4 which was the same, just different branding.

AFAIK, these are not made in US - China more likely. Check that out if it's important to you.

Cheers, Graham.

If theyre not made specifically for the 380 & maybe for the Galant or Grunder the rears won't fit. I could be wrong but would be an expensive mistake unless you got some iron clad fitment warranty. K-Sports fit as I sent a full suspension setup to them & they copied the parts they needed to copy.

Well at least I know now. But can you have them legally on the car? I'm not gonna get em if its not legal to have them on.

Coilovers themselves aren't illegal - it's just an issue if you go too low.

With things like suspension, you get what you pay for. There are a few here who have purhcased cheapo set ups and ended up with nothing but trouble afterwards

I am a KSport dealer, I can get a price for you if you wish however unless you are looking to do constant adjustments you can get far better quality suspension for a similar price to the KSPort
