I bought some cheap VVME 35w 4300K HIDs for the high beams of our Pajero and TW. About $40 a set each on Ebay. Went straight into the pajero, brilliant, much brighter.

But on the TW, the bulb is held in place by a clip that in turn is held on by the electrical plug. So I can't see how to get these bulbs to stay in.

Has anyone done this?

Don't waste anymore time on this,i installed a set in my TW's headlights a couple of years ago and the results were terrible (hot spots and glare way above the cut off line) so my advice try and get your money back. Some people will say to just adjust them down to stop the glare affecting oncoming drivers but it's bullshit. You can do it properly with a OEM projector HID retrofit but you'll be looking at $500 minimum.

this is just for the high beams! no oncoming driver will see them. And on our pajero they're great. And I don't want to spend $500.......

I was considered putting HIDs in my magna, TF magna, i know, completely different headlight, but, instead i opted to use the philips +80 bulbs, and wow, what a difference. And at $27 a bulb it was money well spent, you can even get the +100. I now have +80 low beam, and +100 high beam for the H1 bulbs, no glare, no people flashing me, and got so much light for a standered steup.

If it is like the Verada set up...ie...globe goes into plug ,then plug/globe goes into headlight and held on by a clip,

what you do is loose the plug,as you have to ,and get some high density foam or rubber, plastic, any thing you can cut or shape ,and make up a spacer type thing to sit on top of the hid globe and then be held down by the spring...understandee...

Yeah i would not be putting HIDs in stock TW lenses if you can help i. High beam might be a different story but the lows are disgraceful lol How are your lenses on the lights? If they are yellow you would be amazed how much light output you lose! have a look at Loudz Creations on here for some examples of faded lenses. If you want them restored shoot me a PM aswell as other questions

why not? I've just put them on our pajero and I like them. remember this is high beam only, so the "glare for oncming driver" argument isn't relevant.
