looking at throwing some 17" mags onto the solara and was just wondering what sort of speedo differance would happen ( currenty got 15" mits alloys)

Depends on the tyre you fit - it could be bang on or it could be a couple of km/h out. Are there already tyres on it, and if so, what size are they? If not, what width is the rim? (as this will determine your tyre choices).
If you have 205/65/15 tyres at the moment, 235/45/17 are basically an exact fit - 643mm vs 647mm for standard. Your speedo would be out by 0.67%. The very narrowest rim you can fit a 235 tyre to is 7", but I would recommend fitting only if your rim is 7.5" wide or greater.

i went from stockies to the ralliart enkies (17") with 234/45 KU39's? no change in speedo

I've never seen 234 tyres. I'm sure you mean 235.

mine are 235/45/17 and the speedo runs 2 kms faster then the gps
ahh so it wouldnt be enough to worry about getting done for speeding when u think your in the right lol
