View Full Version : Electric antenna
Does anyone know how much it would cost to buy an electric antenna for a TH, and where I could get it? My dodgy manual one only goes up half way...

Mits make a afermarket one, it's under the accessorys on partfinder, Some mits dealers don't even know it's there. It's about 130-150 bucks but I'l;l check today at work. This comes complete. a replacement mast for this electric is only around the same price as a manual mast. about 30-40 bucks from memory. I'll get back this arvo

Anyone know how much it would cost to get one installed in the place of a manual antennae? My manual mast is like rusted into place. :D

Buy the electric one and wire it up to your stereo.

Mitsu charges like 180 for an OEM one installed... well that was what I paid for anyway...

Was it $180 just for the installation or $180 for the electric antennae supplied and fitted?
Thanks.

does any one know how hard is it to put an elecy anntena in urself ??
I've got a Gregory's book, it isn't too difficult. You have to run a wire to your head unit, which is simple of you've done an amp install. I just want to know how much the part is....

Its the AP179 you want. Any repco, autobarn or the like will be able to do it for around $120.
They also do headunit harnesses ... if you want to just plug and play when replacing your head unit :)
Well I got my electric antenna - I'm having trouble getting the factory one out, however. I got all the bolts and stuff off but I don't know how to seperate the part that's outside the car from the part that's inside. It won't budge. Anyone know how to get it out?

Just going a little further.....there are a number of different options, or so it would seem. My verada has an electric antenna on it with a height adjustment, so by pressing a button on the head deck you can take it down to half height (level with the roof) and then back up again. Just wondering if anyone had had a play with one of these (as far as wiring), im installing a new head deck soon and I thought it would be nice to be able to retain the car park height adjustment functionality. So if anyone has worked out one of these units, I would be very keen to have a chat.

Height adjustment is retained. The power from the head unit harness goes through the height adjust switch before going to the elec antenna.
