Hey guys. I'm looking at TJ Magna's as a first car, however all the cheaper ones seem to be Executives with standard auto. How much would it cost me (and where can it be done - I live in rural Vic) to get it converted to sports auto?

Cheers.

I can be done, you wont need to change the gearbox as they use the same but you will need a later model doner car to get the parts from.
You will need the ECU, BEM, Keys and shifter assembly, you will also need to re-wire the loom at the ECU to connect the new shifter.

How much is that likely to come to?

If you can DIY it wouldn't be to bad ($350-500), if your needing it installed it would probably be cheaper to buy one with a tippy as standard.

Maybe have a chat to Madmaga (Mal) from Mitsfix as he is in Vic and has done these conversions before. LINK (http://mitsfix.com/ContactUs.html)

The following is required:

- Engine loom to suit tiptronic
- ECU (TJ/KJ 4sp Tiptronic)
- Shifter Assembily
- Evoscan 1.3U/Openport 2.0 Reflashing Cable + Laptop + Ecuflash software (free) OR Matching keys, locks, ignition barrol, and BEM to tiptronic ECU.

The following is optional (gives you the selector lights in your cluster):

- Upper dash harness
- Tiptronic dash cluster

Add to the above, you can not use the KJ series as these also have TCL, if you dont use the TCL then you will have all sorts of other issues

You need a set up from a TJII for this to work with no issues, you can do just BEM and ECU and order new keys cut to your vin, programme them in and you are off and running. I have done several of these and no doubt will do several more lol
