Hi guys,
Well as you all know by now (probably) I recently purchased an 01 TJ1 exec from the auctions with a stuffed engine as a project and I would use my TL wreck's engine in it. Well I have been working on the project and well this weekend I'm all ready to swap the engines. Spent all last weekend getting it prepared (like removing and labeling pipes and wires removing other parts etc). However, I noticed that when I looked at my TLs engine, it had a gold thing that sits above the throttle lever and has a pipe which connects to a black plastic device near the P/S reservoir. I then looked at the TJ's engine and it does not. I was thinking when I do the swap, I could just cover the pipe outlet on the gold thing and not use it however I don't know what it does or why it is there. So does anyone think they can help? I have included pictures with the parts circled to aid my explanation.

Mate thats part of the throttle body that if im not mistaken is the module for the cruise control

The other pipes are vac lines

I'm pretty sure thats part of your cruise control

Well the TJ don't have cruise control (whereas of course the TL did as a standard feature) so I won't have to connect it to anything, right?

Just use the TJs TB on the TL engine if you arent going to retrofit cruise. Make sure u give the butterfly and inlet tract a good clean with carb cleaner

If you need a quick hand with anything give me a yell and I can duck over. How much you end up getting the car for?

OR use the TL one and simply dont connect it to anything, no need to connect it if not in use

Oh for the love of god, when you post up pic please please resize them, these are huge and i had to walk across to another suburb just to see the other end of them

Ok, I'm going to respond to a few people here. Mal - Sorry bout that I was in a hurry because it was late and I needed to get to sleep for my early start for work (I start 6.30 am everyday). Also, I believe I will just use the TLs TB but not connect the cruise to anything.
Dave- Bout the pic size and detail, thats sort of half true aye
And SAVAGE - Yeah I got it for $900 ($1080 with fees and towing) and thanks for offer of help with the engine swap man, I'll let you know if I get stuck on anything.
