will v6 auto starter work in a manaul v6

tried that once during a manual conversion on a V6
the flywheel must have a different distance
to engage from a torque converter
they both bolt on ok
Apart from the auto v's manual differences, I found the starter (on my KR 3.0 auto) stopped with only a day's warning at about 180K kms. NRMA advised a tip, to tap the solenoid when switching power on. he starter, like a battery, will pick the worst time to let you down. When happened again a few days later, replaced it with a brand new starter cost about $100 from a wholesale supplier,about 15mins work to fit, easily accessible, and never looked back.
