Hey guys,
Yesterday i finally got my car diagnosed with a fudged oxy sensor so i picked that up with the intention to change it in next weekend.

Went to start my car earlier today and the started motor has shat itself...... wow i thought, not a lucky weekend indeed

Any long story short are there any tutorals DIY guide for the oxy sensor and starter motor for a third gen

PS spend an hour looking already through past threads, but feel free to wreck me if i have missed something already :D

Starter motor couldn't be easier, pop under and you'll see what I mean. There are 2 bolts holding it in, and one holding the positive wire in. The trigger wire is just a push clip. Undo bolts/wires, slide it out, slide new one in, tighten bolts, reconnect wires. Disconnect your battery before starting :P

o2 sensor is a pita (do it while cold unless you like being burned). Think it is a 22mm open ended spanner you'll need. Remove the trim and service plate on the lower passenger side dash and you will see a white plug going into the floor. Unplug this and reach in to pop the grommet through. Push the wire down as much as possible. Once done, jack the car up high enough to get under. The o2 lives straight under where that plug is an is offset to the drivers side so you will need to get the car up nice and high. Use your spanner to undo the plug, screw in the new one, push the wire up and clip the grommet in. Plug the o2 into the engine harness and reinstall your service plate/dash trim.

Went through the oxy sensor yesterday lol, is very easy, being burnt has nothing to do with why to do with a cold exhaust, the thread will bind up and yo will then be in trouble

The starter, I use the 380 starters in Magna's, they are not only newer of course however they have better gearing thus will i theory last longer

Is a matter of disc battery, remove 2 wires from starter, remove 2 bolts (14mm heads) and then out with the old, in with the new

I've always undone the O2 sensor when hot as the Gregorys manual says the threads can bind if attempted when cold - they also say to use anti-seize on the threads when re-installing - that's for Bosch 4 wire heated.
Been burnt too.

Thanks Guys!

Mal i was just been lazy :D your instructions were pretty much spot on witht he oxy sensor, thanks!

Same with the starter motor - expect that took a while as it is pretty hard to get to one of the bolts! I thought it was bizarre how it stuffed almost at the same time lol anyways i didn't have the time to look for a starter motor so repco helped me out there today.
