Well it seems there are a few of us out there with the same problem....... the shudder coming from the front end when you put the power on. I've done as others have said and checked out evrything from engine mounts Suspension (has been replaced by King Springs and KYB Shocks and i cant seem to find the problem. The only thng i can think of is that it might be the C.V's. If any one of tha lads has had this problem and gotten it fixed could they let me know PLZ..

Have you had your wheels aligned lately? Apparently lowering can cause an incorrect camber, aswell as throwing wheel alignment out, and as our magnas don't exactly come out of the factory with a camber/castor kit, little can be done to adjust the camber. Im not saying that this is definently the problem, but I've been told by a few ppl now that this can be the cause, as when lowering the car it throws the camber off hence the resulting shudder.

When I had my 60 mm lowered springs in the front of my car the shudder was quite bad, a week later I decided to go back to 40 mm springs in the front, and now the shudder is almost non existent, only feel it some times, and isnt very noticeable. I suggest taking it to a reputable suspension shop and get them to take a look and see what they have to say regarding the possible link between the shudder and incorrect camber.

Cheers.

If the noise has only developed since you installed the new springs/dampers, I feel you should check that they are fitted and seated correctly.

i had that shudder, it was only under load ie: accelerating and decellerating, and mainly high ish speed (80+ kph)
turnd out to be a buggerd inner CV joint
got all em repackd and booted (cv's) on 1 side + new exchange drive shaft on other ( it was really buggerd)
and all is fine :)

Hey Sexed just got a quote for some sports CV's from carline in Cronulla for $180 each side and $60 for labour. Better than $500 for full or around $415 for half at mitsubishi!!

180 isn't too bad! i think the charade ones are only 20-30 bucks cheaper, and they are flimsey bastards

it cost me $240, woulda been cheaper if i didnt get the other shaft checkd and repackd

that was from a CV specialist, and exchange shaft (they keep buggerd one)

mind you i only got charged $33 labour (mates rates)

best thing to do is tell em to just check em first, (before they go and replace em) that way if they not worn , you wont be up for hundreds of dollars.

Mates rates would be nice so Peter at carline is doing me a good deal but he firstly said once i get the new bump stops put in (no labour costs) go and get a front wheel alignment and a balance as the front have a tndancy of throwing off the wheel weights every now and then.....so will let ya know how i go!!
