Feel free to delete if this shouldn't be here.
Basically I am looking at buying this (http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/mitsubishi/380/perth/detail.aspx?id=30384279&lid=30384279&pg=1&pp=1&d=0&SG=-2143303223&pt=1)
Checked it out on Redbook with the VIN (6MMDB4D417T022212) and it comes back as what they have described it as, but it seems the grille is wrong, was it an optional feature at that time? It looks like the 06 Series 2. Basically I want to know what I'm buying! i also found the ad on ebay - though unless the rules have changed in the past year I can't link to it right?
Though the plan is to not buy it for that price.. :ninja:

It's an ES so that's the grill it came with being the lower spec model, but that is WAY too much for those K's and model.
RightNow?

Agree with Kif. I paid $2500 more for a VRX with full trim that had less than half the kays of that car :)

No that is a series II ES not III. On Series III, ES got 16 inch alloys as standard and the same front bar as SX, VRX, and GT. Check out this link for the Series III release info http://www.caradvice.com.au/3904/2007-mitsubishi-380-series-iii-sedan/

That car is not worth more than 9k at best based on what the upper spec models are going for.
Is a sad reality given that even the base model is feature packed however unfortunalely that is how things go with our and many other cars
This is the base povo pack, by series 2 there were options for alloy wheels and other bits, this has absolutely nothing at all

What is your criteria?
Because there are far better cars listed on carsales.com.au than that one.

No that is a series II ES not III.
I thought that too, but the VIN comes back as a series 3...
So if it really is a 3 it should have these features as standard? (Accoring to the link?)
ES Traction control
16” alloy wheels
Sports front bumper
Fog lamps
Grey seat inserts
Chrome rings to instrument cluster
I have to go throught John Hughes as they're the only place I can get finance with.
Basically my criteria is a 380 that isn't due for the timing belt any time soon, and not an epic amount of K's.

I have several series 3 ES here, all of them have had steel wheels, no TCL and no Fog lights.
I have a few ES here which have Platinum badges on them (I suspect "dealer specials") and these have an assortment of weird features such as some with leather seats, VRX front bars and lights, sunroof in one of them, alloys but none have TCL

so your going to spend a stupid amount of money on a high km, pov pack so you don't have to do a timing belt ?
what about a higher km car needing more money spent on it for repairs...don't rule that out...
i had my timing belt done on my 380GT and it cost me under 500 bucks at a dealer.. not much at all.
just to put it into perspective , there is alot of better deals than that.

this series 3 SX , 84k's for $10,500...
you'll get that for 10 grand and use the 500 you save to do the timing belt...

Platinum were not dealer specials mal. they were factory specials.
produced two different variants one at the end of the series 2 the other throughout series three.
dont remember what they had but i think the s2 platinum was basically a gt without the gt bumpers or leather?. ill confirm and get back to you. i have a list somewhere.

I am more than aware that they are not dealer specials HOWEVER there were 2 dealers here in Vic who were getting base ES models, putting bluetooth, reverse sensors and fog lights, badging them as Platinums and palming them off
The series 2 shared the same Vin series as the Vrx, ie 6MMDB4Vxxxxxxx The Series 3 I had recently was 6MMDB4Sxxxxxxx so again the series 3 must have shared the same platform as the SX or VRX.
This and the last one I had, both were Essendon Mits who were shut down, both were 6MMDB4Dxxxxxxxx this based on the ES. The latest one I have here has VRX leather, series 2 GT or series 3 Platinum wheels but also has the VRX black headlights. One had sunroof, second no sunroof. Both have not got the integrated head units and upper display unlike the other true platinums I had. Remember that some dealers did do many funny things over the years to clear surplus stock lol
