I am just wondering if anyone can help me fix my car, I need someone to come look at it for me. Im willing to pay you for services. I just cant seem to find a mechanic that thinks my car is worth the effort. I have been having troubles with my car idle, stalling and not changing gears
(automatic trans). If you could come test drive it you will understand. Im just at my wits end and need some help. you can email and we can organise something.

being a first gen
how many ks ?
and what have the mechanics told you ?
if EFI
try the stepper motor and the TPS on it
the auto might just need a service
but not changing gears is due to
the auto module....... they do play up some times
but not as much as second gens

Thanks Magna Buff. the car has done about 242000, I have only done not even 5000 in it tho. The mechanics just brush it off to bad engine, not worth it, they dont even try to explain just say to buy a new car.
BTW im in yagoona nsw

well its worth trying the auto module
sounds like its gone into fail safe
leaving you with reverse and third
the module is under the carpet below the radio wrecker price was about $75 or less
if EFI
stepper motor if you undo it from the throttle body
then as you start the motor its shaft should move in or out
undo the battery terminals after refiting to reset the modules to default
then reconnect battery terminals
now you know more than the mechanics do :eeek:
if a carby then a vaccume problem
