It looks like this one without the rear spoiler. Any help would be appreciated. Is it actually a TH like the one on the photo is there anyway i can check myself?

Check the VIN on the rego or car itself.
IF 6 M M T H 6 D 42 X T 000001 the 4th and 5th letters denote a TH.

I'd say it's a TH. Best way to check is the number on the ID plate - It should be on a metal plate riveted to your firewall in the engine bay. The number should begin 6MMTH if it's a TH. Otherwise the 'TH' after 6MM will tell you the model if it is not. The plate also lets you know Manufacture Month/Year and any options that were included on your car.
Hope this helps :)

it says TF on the VIN, are there any major differences between the models around 1996-2000

Quite a lot. Mechanically they are quite similar but there were various changes.
What sort of changes are you thinking of.

Probably changing the lights to the cat eyes ones and getting new rims/wheels but i have no idea how much all of it would cost and were to start. The paint job is a bit dull also but not sure if that can be improved without a re-spray. ill upload a few photos shortly

In regards to paint. Perhaps spend a hole day cleaning, clay bar, polish, wax, etc and see how it comes up?
Won't fix any damage to the paint but will at least bring out the best in it.

Probably the cheapest way to fix that is to get a half guard from a wreckers, cut the bottom area off and then weld it into place and get rid of the damaged one, this won't be cheap, shame the damage is in such a place

Rest of the paintwork looks ok too, with a proper paint correction (not a cheapo 'cut and polish') it should come up quite well.
Since you're in Victoria, check out forum sponsor Mits-Fix, who wreck and sell a wide range of Magnas parts. The 'cat eye' headlights you refer to are 'parabolic' headlights, which Mits-fix can sell and fit for you. You may find them selling a set of factory mags that may take your fancy too.

An "old time" panel beater could tap that dent out such that the remaining imperfections could be filled, primed and then the whole thing could be painted.
The ripple line on the door might be able to be fixed by one of the door ding repairers.
