As the title suggests, i am in need of some new suspension as the rears have collapsed badly and the front is on its way out, however i love the ride height of the back at the moment.
I am trying to decide on if i go for Low all round or super low.
any suggestions/pics of what it might look like? and any scrubbing issues ??
i am running 18x8s with 245/45 rubber
thanks in advance

You will probably need to trim your flares both front and rear. You may have to roll your rear guards too.
I would go Lows - it's still low, but not impractically so. Rides better than Superlows too. Check my Member's Machine thread, there's a bunch of photos with my car lowered, both on the standard 17s and on the same 18" Speedy Graphites that you have... (I have 235/40s though, and took my flares off)

I agree with Red Valdez, lows ride much better because they're not super close to the bump stops so when you hit a large bump it wont bang(some people dont mind that though) got a pic of my TJ Sports with lows on 18x8 235/40's but remember vrx's look alot lower because the kit sits much closer to the top of the wheel, really happy with how it rides & handles;)

Superlows do nothing for handling over lows, but they look good. Depends on what you're after. I have an unhealthy obsession with being as low to the ground as possible so I'm on superlow fronts/coilover rears and still not happy with the height at the front.

Hey I was running king lows with 18x8 wheels 245 35 scuffed out all the time, new shocks no probs but I down sized to 17s. Have a look at my album for the height of lows. I think I want to drop the arse a bit more tho lol

If you are a spirited driver then go for something like SP's.
If uneven tyre wear bothers you then a fair bit of effort in improving the OE suspension set up will delight you.
By this I mean some attention to Camber and castor on the front, sway bar size and camber / toe in at the rear.
Then run sensible tyre sizes but get premium sticky tyres.
Going way too low will actually make the car dangerous IMHO.
You need to have a decent amount of suspension travel, especially on the front.
Imagine going hard round a corner and then hitting a bump on the loaded side of the car. If the suspension is near its travel limit then you will run out of travel and dangerously change the suspension dynamics. Add a bit of water or oil and here comes the scenery!!
Yes it is nice to go super low for looks, but you will grow out of it!!

Thank you for saying it pretty much exactly as I was going to say it lol
SL are dangerous to your car. Lack of suspension travel, rish of structural damage when the strut slams into the strut top as your bump stops will only last a few weeks if you are lucky (even if you cut them)
Cars that low are made for shows, not for street use, thus why it is illegal to reduce your suspension travel by more than 1/3. Remember that suspension travel is more than just your damper travel, your arms and other parts of the suspension need to travel also

Mal,
Bit like trying to marry a reality show star. Built for looks not brains. insert handling in the case of a Kar.

personally i'd have superlows if my front splitter wasn't so outrageous. So i would go superlows if you can learn how to drive at angles and avoid potholes, otherwise lows are good, still can go over pretty much any bumps without destroying the car.

Don't lower by any more then 25-30mm. Lowered cars look good only because the wheel sits perfectly in the arch, NOT due to the proximity to the ground. So-called "slammed" cars are plain dumb and as someone rightfully pointed out, are made for show and not street. Never fun breaking the side skirts and tearing the exhaust off while going over speed humps, ramps and driveways lol

I put on lows on my VR-X, same model and it looked the business for sure. Everyone is right, with the flares etc, it just looked perfect.
However, depending on your wheel offset you may or may not have flare rubbing issues.
When I lowered mine, the flares hit all around. My wheels were 18 inch running 234/45 tyres and had a +35 offset.
I refused to remove or trim the flares cause I love em and thats why I got the VR-X.
Plus in all honesty, it looks ok as it is. I get no trouble from the cops and the standard vr-x suspension is lower than normal Magnas anyways.
Also another point. My wifes Magna was lowered a couple years ago, and to be honest, with the years of lowering it has taken its toll on the car, both undercarriage and more rattles than ever.
