View Full Version : Advice on what I should be paying for Verada
Hey guys,
Need some advice. Went to look at 2003 KL Verada Xi, mint cond, 39 000kms - what should I pay?
Also 2005 KW Verada, mint cond, 105 000kms - what should I pay?
There's no question they're well looked after. I'm leaning more towards the KW since it's the later model. Both advertised round the 11k mark.
Cheers

Both cars should be in really good condition, but I'd go for the KW as the other one has only done 39,000 km in 8 years and is not likely to have been serviced on a time basis. (Service records could prove me wrong)
Has the KW had its timing belt changed though?
I would sit in/drive both cars, and decide then. It is up to you. Colour, features, service records are all influencing factors. Decide which you want, then haggle on the price.
Hey Max,
Have driven both.
The kl drives smooth but would dare say engine feels very laid back even a bit flat........or is this just a verada thing? I suppose I could just switch to tippy mode to solve this. Yeah although the low kms are appealing but in a car that old it could be cause for concern? Comes with full history but timing belt hasn't been done yet! Apparently their mechanic said on visual inspection & since it has low kms it doesn't need replacing. I feel mileage is irrelevant since it needs replacing every 100k's or every 5 years.
The kw is smooth as & feels more lively. Timing belt has been done at 90 000kms. The kw just looks sexy - is it me or is the front/rear bumpers more protruding on the kw?

what are they asking for them both? Cheers
KL - $11 000(might be able to knock off a few $100)
KW - $11 300(fairly neg)
Now I know this is pushing into 380 territory but they just look so good!). Convince me why/why not I should/shouldn't go for 380..............

I'd go for the KW, it has nicer bumpers in my opinion and its timing belt has been done. Go for the Verada, the frame-less windows look awesome!

The KL and KW are identical mechanically so theoretically they should be the same to drive.
I'd offer $10k for the KW. A 380 is worth considering, but for a luxury model (particular a VR-X with leather or a GT) with reasonable k's you're looking at $14k+.

Why is everyone leaning towards the KW? with the KL if you do the timing belt and get it checked over mechanically you have an awesome car with 40k on it.

Private sale or dealership? Is the KW an Xi as well?
I personally would go the lower kms too, just get it checked over first.

Both are private & kw is Xi as well.
I duno, the more I think about it the more confused I am. I guess I have to make the decision since I will be driving & living with it!
Dam, did we have to add 380 to the mix as well!

Even if for example the 39K car has similar engine wear o the 110K car, consider the suspension and interior should all be in better condition.
If the 39K car is a cause for concern, do a compression test on both (at least the front bank of cylinders) and compare their "condition".
If I were to spend 11K though, I may consider something like an Accord Euro first...
accord euro....wtf......
serious tho it really comes down to what you feel better with at 40k u wont need to do the timing belt right away but at 110k its recently been done ( i would want those recepits) their bother low k's really
how much driving do you do,
is 60k km worth the extra cash of doing the timing belt / water pump?
and as mentioned earlier what color do u like more LOL colour is everything mmkay
